Application of CuAAC Click Chemistry to Produce Polytriazole-Based Nanostructured Polymers

Abstract: Hyperbranched polymers are importantsoft nanomaterials but robust synthetic methods with which the polymerstructures can be easily controlled have been rarely reported. This presentationfocuses on the development of new synthetic methodologies for preparation ofhyperbranched polymers with low polydispersities (Mw/Mn < 1.3) and highdegree of branching (DB = 0.83) using chain-growth copper-catalyzedazide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) click polymerization of AB2 monomers inone-pot and one-batch process. In addition, synthesis and properties ofmolecular brushes with various structures will be discussed.

 

Curriculum Vitae:

Dr.Yi Shi received his B.S./M.S. degree in major of Polymer chemistry &Physics at Xiangtan University (XTU) under the supervision of Prof. Yuanli Cai(now in Soochow University), then he pursued his Ph.D. degree at Institute ofChemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS) under the direction of Prof.Yongming Chen (now in Sun Yat-sen University). In August 2013, he joined thegroup of Prof. Haifeng Gao at University of Notre Dame (UND) as a PostdoctoralResearch Associate.
