A competitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor has been designed for the detection of ractopamine (RAC) in the system of peroxydisulfate/oxygen (S2O82−/O2). In order to augment the signal of ECL response, trimetallic Au@Pd@Pt core-shell nanoparticles (Au@Pd@Pt NPs) was applied as catalyst and a composite co-reactant, norfloxacin−L-cysteine (NC) was coated on the surface of Au@Pd@Pt NPs to increase the performance of signal amplification. Triangular gold nanosheets (Au TNSs) was selected as the platform material to connect the antigen of RAC since the ultra-thin two-dimensional structure could reduce the barrier effect of electrode modification materials on the process of electron transfer. Consequently, the proposed immunosensor performed ideal detection sensitivity (0.03 pg mL−1) for RAC with a wide linear range from 0.0001 to 1000 ng mL−1.
