报告摘要:Molecular self-assembly ofnylon-12 nanorods in self-organized nanoporous alumina cylinders with twodifferent diameters (65 and 300 nm) is studied with transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM) and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD) in symmetricalreflection mode. In a rod with a diameter of 65 nm, the tendency of thehydrogen-bonding direction of a γ-form crystal parallel to the long axis of therod is more distinct because of strong two-dimensional nano-confinement. For thefirst time, selected-area electron diffraction (SAED) is applied to a polymernanorod in order to determine the molecular orientations under cylindricalnano-confinement. Results of TEM-SAED and WAXD showed that the crystals are theγ-form of nylon-12 nanorod and that the b axis (stem axis) of the γ-formcrystals is perpendicular to the long axis of the rod. These results revealedthat only lamellae with <h0l> directions are able to growinside the nanopores and the growth of lamellae with <hkl> (k≠0)directions is stopped owing to impingements against the cylindrical walls. Thedominant crystal growth direction under cylindrical nano-confinement is inbetween the [-201] and [001] directions due to the development of a hydrogen-bondedsheets restricted along the long axis of the rod.
报告人简介:Dr.Yan Cao obtained a master of polymer engineering at South China University of technologyin 2003. In 2012, she was awarded Ph.D. of polymer physics (Adviser: Prof.Stephen Z. D. Cheng) at The University of Akron. During the period of2012-2014, she went to Fukuoka, Japan and joined the Takahara ERATO project asa Postdoc researcher at Kyushu University (Co-adviser: Prof. Atsushi Takahara).In 2015, she joined the Institute of Advanced Study at Shenzhen University asan assistant professor (Principle Investigator). She is an expert in electrondiffraction of transmission electron microscopy. She is currently engaged inestablishing the lab of advanced micron- and nano-structure and interface of newmaterials which has potential application in photovoltaic cell, memory andsemiconductor areas.
