摘要:

This talk discussesthe understanding of the organic/electrode interfacial exciton dissociation, charge recombination processes and charge collection, which underpin theoptimum cell design and performance. The charge transport and recombinationproperties in the bulk heterojunction organic solar cells are investigated using the transient photocurrent(TPC) and photo-induced charge extraction by linearly increasing voltage (photo-CELIV)techniques. Combined with light intensity-dependent J–V characteristic, it is found that the origin of unfavorableelectron collection is mainly due to the trap-limited bimolecularrecombination, resulting in the compensation of drifted photo-generated electronsat the organic/cathode interface. The undesired charge collection can beeliminated by inserting a thin metal oxide interlayer between the organic layerand electrode. Suppression of the metal oxide subgap states significantlyimproves the charge extraction and performance reproducibility.
