Solar energy plays a critical role to secure the energy and environmental future of the earth. The third-generation photovoltaic technologies promise to be high efficient, low-cost, and environmentally friendly. These 3rd-generation solar cells focus on emerging materials such as nanomaterials, organic semiconductors, and perovskites for solar energy harvesting and conversion to electricity. Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC), with efficiency over 13%, is the key initial technology in development of the 3rd generation solar cells, and is considered as a promising alternative to the traditional silicon solar cells. In this talk, I will present the fundamental aspects of materials, characterization, and device physics of DSSCs. Recent developments in new strategies for high efficiency DSSCs will also be discussed.
报告人简介:
朱正涛博士现任职于南达科他矿业理工学院(South Dakota School of Mines and Technology)。朱博士分别于1992年和1995年取得复旦大学高分子材料的学士和硕士学位,于2002年在美国纽约州立大学(the State University of New York at Binghamton)取得材料化学博士学位,之后在康奈尔大学(Cornell University, 2002-2004)和伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳-香槟分校(University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, 2004-2006)从事博士后研究。朱博士于2006年开始在南达科他矿业理工学院任助理教授,并于2012年晋升具有终身教职资质的副教授(Tenured Associate Professor). 主要的研究方向是纳米材料和器件在能源的转换和储存,柔性电子器件,化学传感器等方面的应用,共发表论文50余篇,相关研究获得美国自然科学基金,美国航天局,美国化学会等机构的资金支持。
