Dr. Jianmei Lu, professor at College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, Soochow University, Chairman of Suzhou Association for Science and Technology, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Soochow University. She is currently a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), fellow of the Global Academy of Chinese Chemical Engineers (GACCE), fellow of Chinese Chemical Society and fellow of Chinese Chemical Engineering Society. She is an expert of the general expert group of the National Nanotechnology Grant Project, and a committee of the Department of Chemistry of the Science and Technology in the Ministry of Education, China. Professor Lu has been engaged in the development of new materials and technologies for adsorption, separation and catalytic conversion of chemical pollutants for more than 30 years from fundamental researches to industrial applications. She won the National Technology Invention Award of China (Rank 1) in 2019 and 2014, respectively, National Science and Technology Progress Award of China in 2013, the Scientific and Technological Progress Award from Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation in 2020, Distinguished Engineer Award in 2024, National Innovation Forefront Award in 2023 and RSC Horizon Prize in 2021. She was awarded with 236 invention patents, including 47 registered in US. Among these, more than 40 patents had been either licensed or commercialized. Lu has presided more than 60 science and technology projects, including 16 national key projects, 16 provincial and ministerial projects, and 32 industrialization projects. She has published more than 700 papers as corresponding authors in SCI-indexed journals including Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc. (2), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (22), Adv. Mater. (15) and Nat. Commun. (5). She has trained 153 graduated students with one of them winning “National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” Award and 5 of them receiving “Jiangsu Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” Awards. She herself won the First "Top Ten Graduate Tutors in Jiangsu Province" in 2018.
