报告题目：Materials Structure Physics of Perovskite-type Ferroelectrics

The properties of ferroelectrics stand on the crystal structure as a first priority. Therefore, the understanding of the properties is based on the understanding of the precise crystal structure. In this sense, ferroelectrics are one of objects suitable for research works in materials structure physics.
Our group is designated for a partner users group by SPring-8, the world's largest synchrotron radiation facility in Japan, to conduct the two projects in the priority research program. In this seminar, I will review some results on ferroelectrics obtained from the projects to discuss the future progress in materials structure physics.

Current Areas of Research Interest: (1) Phase transitions of solids (mainly perovskite-type ferroelectrics, and other functional materials ), (2) Synchrotron radiation science (powder & single-crystal X-ray diffraction, coherent X-ray diffraction, valence electron density study, time-resolved crystal structure analysis).
